Whistling Woods International prepares students for the cinema and other allied professions.
We provide a training ground as well as an educational platform that teaches the art and craft of acting. With in-depth classroom work on acting, voice and movement, on-camera training, industry guidance, ample showreel material and, crucially, an understanding of filmmaking and appreciation for cinema.
I am deeply impressed by the quality of diploma films made by students. I would be happy to participate in the growth and even like to make films myself with these young filmmakers.
Actor
You are lucky to have such a wonderful ground and a beautiful institution. There should be an institute like this where all forms of art are taught. So many filmmakers came and went but no one has ever thought of doing this except for Subhashji.
Actor
I love this space and envy you all who get to explore Cinema here.
Actor
Whistling Woods is a fantastic world. It's thrilling; exhilarating. There should be a halo around Whistling Woods and the sanctity of this place should never be contaminated. It should exist in its purity and create a generation that will come out from here inspired and that will go on a long way in shaping the world of tomorrow.
Actor
As an actor - when one has an educational qualification - it gives one a certain focus and sense of responsibility towards your work. The academic approach & knowledge imparted at Whistling Woods International moulded the actor I am today. As a professional, I owe everything to Whistling Woods International. WWI laid the foundation stones of my personality as a professional in the industry. I studied different aspects of acting and simultaneously filmmaking, which helped. WWI has a major part to play in any medium that I am working in right now.
It's easy to dream. And it's equally difficult to be guided to the right path to fulfil those dreams. Especially if it's the glamour/film/television industry, finding the stepping stone is the most challenging task. The acting department and the faculty have always been a blessing in that sense. In the very little time I have spent in this industry, I have had the opportunity to work in a few advertisements and secured a very small role in one of Anurag Kashyap's upcoming movies.
WWI has been a huge stepping-stone for me in terms of helping me identify acting as a career path in a very professional way. I always feel that education in a specific field plays a very long and enriching role in shaping one's career. It gives me an enormous amount of pride and privilege when I visit WWI and share my stories with the students. I am glad that everybody at WWI loves us so much that we always want to keep going back.
Being at WWI laid a solid foundation that I was looking for when I was about to start my career as an actor. Its state-of-the-art facilities provided me with all the know-how of facing the camera and understanding the technical aspects around it. The course helped me understand and become aware of all the facets of filmmaking and collaborate with my colleagues efficiently. The masterclasses were amazing experiences with the insights of all the legends from the film industry.
WWI has a special place in my heart. It's here where I learnt everything that I know today. It helped in shaping the actor I am. With all the masterclasses and even regular classes, I have gained industry knowledge. It is this learning that comes in handy whenever I hear 'action' in front of the camera. The Placement Cell has helped me land some great projects. WWI is my second home and my comfort zone.
