The Fashion Design programme aims at creating a strong foundation in various aspects of fashion design. Students benefit from a rich educational experience that equips them to succeed in the global fashion industry. Our priority is to encourage each of our students to develop their personal brand of imagination, creativity and style; to help them acquire the knowledge, skills and experience needed to realise personal ambitions and to find their unique voice as Fashion Designers.
The experience of being here at WWI enabled me to learn so much about myself. I feel institutes like these are important as they give the students a different perspective about fashion.

The Whistling Woods International School of Fashion & Costume Design has been an adventure. I got to work, produce, create, innovate, learn, and explore everything about fashion. The course and people here have made me explore my abilities to the maximum which in turn prepared me to face, if not win, any hurdles I come across in the industry and in life. I am thankful for the education and also for all the encouragement that I got from the faculty and staff.
Aiyanna was a ride I was not ready for. It was an open platform where I challenged myself and did something totally different from my usual aesthetic and comfortable space. It taught me what a designer can do and must do! All in all, I love my family at Whistling Woods International.
As a Fashion Design graduate from Whistling Woods International in Mumbai, my dream school, I benefited from a modern campus with top-notch facilities. Engaging in projects like short films and documentaries, I collaborated with fellow students and launched my label, ASANJO BY NITI GANGAR, after graduation. The institute's strong placement record and industry-led masterclasses prepared us comprehensively for successful careers in the field.
I'm Anushka Borkar, a recent graduate of Whistling Woods International with a BA in Fashion Design. Eager to jump into the workforce, the placement cell at WWI made the job hunt stress-free by constantly providing opportunities and guidance. Our dedicated faculty played a crucial role in shaping us for the industry, helping us discover and refine our strengths. I'm thrilled to share that I've landed my first job as the Jr. Production Merchandiser at Falguni and Shane Peacock. Grateful to Whistling Woods for the support!
I'm very grateful to have pursued my education at Whistling Woods International. I'll be starting my career as a Fashion Consultant at Tod's, and I am very thankful to Whistling Woods for this opportunity. During my 3 years of journey, I learnt a lot and became the best version of myself, and it was all possible because of the brilliant faculty and their constant support.

Whistling Woods International School of Fashion & Costume Design is a place that helped me refine and enhance my design skills as well as gave me the practical knowledge needed to execute my designs. It kept me on my toes throughout the course of 3 years and pushed my limits as a person as well as a designer. It's a place where my journey towards the world of design began.
Jewellyn Alvares is a Fashion Designer and has been a couture and
pattern-making enthusiast exploring the subject in the classroom
as well as in the customisation of bridalwear for more than a
decade. The women's line goes under the brand name 'Jule Bridal.'
He recently launched his eponymous label Jewellyn Alvares at the
Lakme Fashion Week 2018; this is the menswear line in indigenous
fabrics and innovative &unsculpted silhouettes.
As a shoe
designer, Jewellyn has customised and designed footwear for
several national and international brands like Catwalk, Pavers
England to name a few and for large-format shows including Femina
Miss India participants.
Jewellyn designs for his clientele
across the world and has showcased his work in Australia,
garnering praises.
An alumnus of the National Institute of
Fashion Technology (NIFT), Bengaluru, he has been associated
fashion design schools and is with Whistling Woods International
since July 2019.
Indrila Varma holds a Masters in Fashion Technology and is currently pursuing her PhD in the area of green manufacturing environmental sustainability in the textile and apparel sector. With combined corporate and academic experience of more than 15 years, she has worked in the corporate sector as an Export Merchandiser and Retail Buyer. She has also worked with premier retailers like Pyramid Retail and Shopper's Stop. Her expertise lies in the fields of Retail Buying and Merchandising, Marketing, and Textiles. She has also published several research papers in various journals and participated in international conferences in India and abroad.
Lancy D'silva has worked with the Italian brand 'Brioni' as Manager, made-to-measure and later worked with the brand 'Camessi' as Bespoke Consultant. He has been designing and crafting clothes for people since late 90s. He has also conducted masterclasses at DSK Institute and Symbiosis, Pune.
Saloni Shukla, a creative director and consultant, is an alumna from NYFA and Whistling Woods and NYU currently running her own incubator and media company. In her 15 years of working in the industry she has played multiple roles - that of a producer, director, creative head, and business developer and been instrumental in setting up companies like Netflix, digital Nirvana, and talent next - India's first online talent platform. She is a documentary and fashion filmmaker and a theatre personality. Her vast knowledge in multiple disciplines of content creation, filmmaking and arts has helped her create her own approach to the arts and performing arts. Constantly working on various fashion, art, and film projects she teaches communication through visual arts and production design and conducts workshops for the same.
Reyaz Ahmad is a graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai. He is a designer and mentor specializing in Couture techniques, Structured wear as well as Lingerie. Teaching Draping and Pattern Making at the School of fashion, Reyaz brings with him immense industry knowledge which he shares in the classroom.
Nidhi Pancholi is an alumnus of National Institute of Fashion Technology, Mumbai. Having over 7 years of Industry experience as well as in academia, her core skills lie in Fashion illustration and Textile Rendring using digital and traditional media. Design Culture is another subject that Nidhi teaches with a method of meticulously structured classes using innovative teaching materials. Her illustrations have been published in Harpers Bazaar Arabia amongst other digital media platforms. She has to her credit being an illustrator for leading Indian designers.
Sayli Sawant has been a tutor for over 2 decades in the subject of garment construction with specializations in sewing finishes, in surface ornamentation techniques like dyeing and hand embroidery. Well versed in draping sarees in the way it's done across states of India she is also a master at cotemporary styles.
Aaron Nath graduated in Fashion Design and has 7 years of experience in the industry. He has worked with several Fashion retail brands & labels with a focus in menswear. Aaron transitioned to academics and has been educating learners on Fashion CAD, Portfolio Development, and Design Processes. His core abilities lie in Retail based fashion portfolio with technical designs and print development for textiles.
Anamika Banerjee, a fashion faculty since 21 years, has been working with various colleges of Mumbai as a visiting faculty. She has an expertise in surface ornamentation, traditional and contemporary embroidery, History of costume, textile, and many other stands of fashion. A visharad in music, loves singing and lives to create different types of mandalas which is her passion.
Dr. Rugmani Venkatadri has over 22 years of experience in academics, and holds a Doctorate from Banasthali University, after her master's in History and Ancient Indian Culture from the University of Mumbai. With a mastery in handcrafted jewelry, and research, her area of expertise lies in History of Art, Textile, Costume and Fashion, Cultural Anthropology, and Jewelry/Accessory crafting techniques. As an avid backpacker, she takes interest in ethnic cultures and their manifestations, besides being a voracious reader.
Sabira Fernandes has taught English Literature and Communications at graduate and post-graduate levels in three colleges in Mumbai.As a Consultant, Sabira plays the role of a catalyst in evangelizing and growing brands. Having spent almost two decades heading Marketing and Corporate Communications functions, she now is a Creative Writer and works in the field of communications. She writes for clients and agencies in strategy, branding and content & marketing communication development. This includes brochures, websites, social media marketing and ghost-writing articles, in diverse fields including Telecommunications, Power, Fashion, Packaging, CSR and Sustainability, among others.Sabira has post-graduate degrees in English Literature (Mumbai University), History (SNDT Women's University), and Marketing Management (Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, Mumbai University). She has also trained to be a Counsellor.Sabira is also an academic author with a couple of published papers.
